I'm not sure it's true that short women are generally preferred by men. At least that's not true for all men.

Due to sexual dimorphism, though, the average height of women is about 5" shorter than men. So it makes sense that both men and women like those dynamics.

I'm 6'2" and will admit that I have a thing for shorter girls that look like miniatures of taller girls. They look like cute little elves or fairies. Maybe they appear more delicate and feminine.

I've had girlfriends as tall as 5'7" and as short as 5'1". My wife is 5'5".
5'4" is the average height of women in the U. S. So I guess I dated women who were within the average height range, although I wouldn't have been turned off at all by a woman who was under 5' tall, even 4'9" or 4'10".

When I see a hot actress and discover that she is 5'2", I'm extra attracted.

As far as being with a petite women, I enjoy being admired for my relative size and strength. I love it when she looks up into my eyes, or puts her hands on top of my shoulders and rises on her tip toes to kiss. Maybe it brings about an instinct to be protective.

It's fun to pick her up and cradle her like a baby in my arms, or lift her and spin her around, or let her ride on my shoulders. And that's also true when it comes to sex. They are fun to lift and bounce up and down. Because of their weight and size, you can do lots of creative things with them.
And I suppose that the shorter the girl, the larger my cock is in relation to her size.

I can of course only speak for myself , although I've not had that many tall women , I absolutely adore tall , when I go to the netball in Australia , they are all mostly over 180cm in flat shoes , and fit of course , just smoking hot.

When we had the club , we had this dancer 6ft 3in in the old money in flat shoes , she would put on those platforms and Wow 6ft 8in or 9in , I could boner up just standing next to her , she was incredible , I guess I'd love to be around say 6ft 2in , and it must be something to do with reproduction , or that there are not that many , I dont know , but for me " tall is hot " .

I’ve been told by tall men that they feel protective of me.

I am 5 feet 2 and the man I had a thing with recently was 6 feet 4. He told me he wanted to protect me and take care of me and that he thought I was lovely and cute. I liked that he felt that way about me. He was also twice as big as me with me being 105 lbs and him being 200 lbs and strong. He loved our height difference.

My current date is 6 feet 2 and he said he loves my size and shape and he thinks I look sexy and cute, he always holds my hands while walking.

My ex was 6 feet 2 too and he liked taller girls, however, I was his first girlfriend and I was short and his next girlfriend looks like me too and is the same height as me I think.

My mom is taller at 168 cm and she always feared I must have worn heels because I was so short I would stay unnoticed haha

In truth, I have never stayed unnoticed and both, tall and short men, notice me, but taller men are more attracted to me I think. As they are more often the ones to approach.

My last boyfriend's girlfriend was a frickin Amazon! He's only 5'8". She towered over him. I thought they looked odd together.

When I see a tall/bigger woman with a guy 5'8", 155 lbs, to me it's like he's the one that needs protecting.

No one is getting to him unless they go through her first.

One guy here answered he likes the Amazonian women but he didn't say how short he was.

I guess he needs a protector too!

I'm 5'2" and it was a struggle to let him know that it was ok to be taller than me. He's supposed be.

It was hard getting him away from that Amazonian woman, but I finally kinda did, but not all the way. Then she had a stroke and died. That's when we got more normal.

I'm not sure if it's entierly true.
But I do agree personally. And I think it has to do with the same evolutionary reason that women like tall men.
For women it's a signal for safety to have a big and tall partner.
For men, we want to feel like we matter and are of use. Relatively, compared to a shorter woman, most guys are tall. We generally don't mind seeing some vulnerabilities.

Though, I am NOT saying short women are weak. I am speaking about deep instictual associations. Not something we actively think och say.

I will let you in on a secret I told by a few guys I asked that same question. They liked petite women because they make their dicks look bigger during sex. I can't say that is the reason for all guys. I personally don't care I will climb any tree and if necessary conquer a mountain as long as she visually looks proportioned.

I always preferred short women but for some reason all of my significant relationships have been with average height or a little above women.

I like short women because they are cute and cuddly and just feel good to hold. You kind of feel like you can juggle them or bounce them around. :D I love playing games with and teasing them because they are so easy to pick up and play with. :D

Are they? I had a tall friend complain that small girls were more liked by guys because they are "cute" but I had a short friend complain that guys like tall women because they "look like models." Maybe women (or people in general) are never happy.

They're not. For some reason shorter women disproportionately make more effort towards men while taller women just sit back and expect men to come to them. Why? You tell me. But just look at it from a common sense point of view of a guy. Which would you like? The woman who talks to you and makes effort to know you? I have been attracted to shorter females as long as I can remember. It's not something I ever chose or gave any thought to. Attraction doesn't work that way. I'm sure others will disagree but to me shorter women are more feminine. I am 6'3", if it matters.

Short women look good in tall platform shoes / boots. Too short and sqotty, ass rubs on a curb , usually fat too is not good. Taller women look good in slim tight jeans/ pants, especially leather. So it is a trade off.
