Hmm from this short conversation it seems like you and your friend were just joking around and messing with each other in a playful way. A few things that make it seem harmless:
- The comments were clearly not serious or meant to actually claim ownership of his stuff. More like teasing banter.
- His reaction of saying "Whatever" rather than getting actually upset or defensive. Indicates he knew you weren't being serious.
- The topic of his cats was just a silly jumping off point to riff on in a goofy exaggerated way between friends.
- You've talked enough that he feels comfortable joking back with you without taking real offense.
Unless there are other context clues missing, to me it just sounds like normal back-and-forth joking that friends sometimes do to be silly or try to get a rise out of each other. As long as both people know it's all in fun and don't actually mean what they say, then banter like that is usually harmless. I wouldn't read too much into it unless one of you seemed genuinely angry or uncomfortable during.
That you now own everything he owns.
I'm talking about his response?
That he agrees with you and/or doesn't care.
