Friendzoned a guy, and now he’s been unnecessarily rude, why?

Both of us are in our mid 20s. I met this guy on a dating app but we clashed heads a lot on a ton of things. And he was the one that said things just wouldn’t work out.

He moves on to some other girl and she wasn’t interested in him so he tried running back to me. I said no. Obviously. Even tho he insisted. Why would I want him after all that? I said we could be friends (not really meaning it, I just wanted to keep the peace since we found out we had mutual friends; didn’t want to leave on bad terms with anyone, ya know?)

So last night. I went out with friends and got pretty tipsy and I couldn’t find my house key. So I tried texting my roommate that I was outside. So she could let me in. Except, i accidentally texting him “I’m outside”. I apologized right away. And his response was “I could care less bro”. I responded with “I was just apologizing. Goodnight”

but why the unnecessary rudeness from him? He went from begging to now being rude and for what?

I don't know anything about your longer term interactions with him, but in my observation; guys do things like that when the guy was putting up with the woman for the possibility of sex, more than actually liking who she is as a person.

For what it's worth, the general hostility doesn't make any sense to me either. I really get tired of being on the receiving end of it though. The person decides to get weird and then give me a bunch of crap about it like I'm the one causing problem.

Because his chances of you guys fucking went away. He went from hoping to get laid to knowing it wasn't going to happen. If you didn't know this already most guys that are nice to you are only nice because they think they have a chance.
