My boss on multiple occasions have said that I’m like his wife and I remind him of his wife. I’ll give context, I’d say something like you are a bad listener and he’d clap back with, you sound like my wife she says the same. Then other times we’d be talking and joking and I’d say something out of line that was sweet and funny and he’d say the same thing. So what I’m not understanding if I should be offended or flattered. I’d ask what he means by that but i don’t think of smart things to say until after the fact haha

I'd assume it is personality traits. I don't think it is offensive though being told you are like a female of his acquaintance is offputtng. Maybe that is why he says that - in other words it is a mind game. Or it might be he is a bad listener and his wife also points that out. He probably has a rich library of wfe stuff to draw upon
