What does it mean when a guy calls you sweetie, pumpkin, sweet cheeks, etc?

I have a friend and he’ll occasionally call me these names and I can’t tell if he’s joking or if he’s low key flirting and testing the waters. Also he tells me about the girls he’s talking to…doesn’t that mean he’s not interested? I just want to make sure I’m not leading him on by just laughing or joking back 🙂

Well if he talks to multiple women the chances are pretty high although maybe he just has nicknames for all of them, I'd say the best to hope for is that he only uses these on you, there's no way to really tell if you don't communicate with the other women but it's hard to believe he only speaks hi byes with these women unless he really doesn't talk to them all that much and you are the one he's interested in.
