How would a guy feel if a girl wishes them on his birthday?

There's this guy I'm interested in and his birthday is coming up. I haven't talked to him face to face because I'm really shy and introverted but we text sometimes. However, he doesn't initiate and hardly replies to the messages so I've stopped texting for a while.

I think he isn't interested in me so I wanted to know if I should completely stop messaging the guy? Also how would a guy feel if a girl whishes him on his birthday?

I though about it and in the end messaged him thinking I might regret it if I didn't. He replied with a Thank You... but I haven't messaged him further yet. I have talked to him twice face to face once but it was just a question, not really a conversation. I do know that he's also shy and introverted because he has mentioned it before. Plus knowing my shy and anxious personality I haven't tried with any guy before but the similarities made me want to try.

Loved strangely enough, i can probably think of only one girl that's ever done that for me and the craziest shit was i didn't even tell her it was my birthday. Apparently she ask my sister/best friend about it after our first date and wanted to surprise me. She waited till i came to her place and even made me brownies. First thing right after i get in the door she shouted HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY! then gave me a big kiss and hugged me tight, which shocked tf out of me cause i didn't tell her shit about my birthday so i was wondering how she knew but found out later. She caught me so off guard the i lied and said i need to take a shit before i ate but it was a lie so i could go to the bathroom and hide the fact that i was starting to tear up. Even to this day no woman has ever shown me they loved me as much as her. I lucked out with her and tbh i doubt ill find anyone who comes even close.. I don't know about this dude your talking to but wish him a happy birthday and see if he has plans. If he doesn't try to hangout for the day and see what happens. That's about all i can really say tbh.

I look at conversations as a two way thing. Sometimes one initiates the conversation and sometimes the other. The second it stops being 2 way is the time to stop in my eyes, because that tells me the conversation is only progressing through the other party being polite. That eventually subsides too (which I believe is what is happening here)

You could still wish him happy birthday, but I would after that stop initiating contact

Update:- @Cheesepizza123 You could now follow up that 'thank you' reply from him with a 'you're welcome' and 'I hope you got the presents you wanted' Something nice just to keep the conversation going... If he is as shy as you say he is, then I don't think we should all be reading so much in to this.. You could help each other overcome your shyness.. You could also even tell him about your shyness, and how hard it is for you to keep making all the running. He could very well like you just as much, but could do with a small push so to speak.

This sounds very much like my 17 yr old daughter who initiated twice with two different boys from 2 different years in HS. She was in the same place as cheesepizza. After many attempts of initiating playing sports… the boy was very nice and declined and shared that they are okay to play however it will not be a date. I was sooooo happy to hear how he carried out as a gentleman.
I wish more guys/gals out there are as brave as these teen boys.
The responses from this particular situation reminds me of my daughter’s situation.

I think very similar to how you would feel. You would be greatful that someone remembered your birthday right? That is how I would feel even if I don't talk to them that much. Just the fact that someone remembered it would make me happy and feel special. I know that because I often get some people that remember mine that I think never in a million years would they remember which day. They just aren't close friends or family. So I have to imagine he will be happy that you remembered it. I don't think there is much more to it other than that given the fact that you don't seem to be romantically involved or more so flirting with him. Conversation seems to have trailed off given your details so I don't think he is going to take it out of context if that is what you are worried about.

I would appreciate the gesture. I get turned off when something like that passes and the girl doesn’t say anything. It’s two words, happens once a year. I try to reach out to everyone for their birthdays, it’s a sign of respect. But some girls out there interpret that as in, why should I be that nice I’m not dating him, he’s not my boyfriend, he’s not my husband, meanwhile those girls probably expect admiration from guys. I’ve learned now that I’m not going to be all nice to everyone. And my experiences have made it crystal clear who genuinely cares about me and who’s using me for attention.

Is it reasonable for you to know his birthday? If t is common knowledge and you might have heard of it then go for it.

If you had to get his birth certificate, then don't show yourself up as a stalker. You could buy him a coffee for it.

With messaging it is not a good way of communicating. It can be boring where face to face isn't. Get face to face to judge.
