Hey everyone,
I wanted to share something that happened and get your thoughts on it. Recently, I approached a guy I like, let’s call him X. I was really nervous, and it took a lot of effort for me to start a conversation with him. He seemed a bit down, but we had a nice chat, and he even started asking me some personal questions, which I answered. The conversation went well.
The next day, I saw him sitting on the sofa, and I decided to approach him again and say hi. He said hi back, but he was on the phone, so I sat closer to him. I waited for him to finish but he stood up and moved away to continue his call. I felt really hurt and rejected by his behaviour because I had tried so hard to talk to him and I was so nervous. After that, I noticed he glanced at me a few times and seemed to look at me more than before.
I’m confused about his behavior. I’m not sure if he’s interested or if I should approach him again. I’m thinking of giving him some space and letting him make the next move, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.
What do you think? Is there a way to interpret his actions? Should I try approaching him again, or should I wait and see if he reaches out?

The thing is there are no intentions set, he doesn’t know that you like him or what you want. It’s great that you gussied up the courage to start a conversation, but how is he to know that there’s more to it than just casualty? Then for you to be all close to him while on the phone, I think you picked the wrong moment to assert yourself because you don’t know what that phone call was about. Whether it was important call or not, it wasn’t the time for you to push for his attention and certainly unfair to be hurt. So as for what comes next, I don’t know. You could be transparent and tell him you like him, or just see how things go.
I totally agree,
Do you think it’s a good idea to approach him again and apologise for approaching while he was on the phone?
As it would be your third time approaching and trying to engage, maybe you should let him come to you next time. If it’s within the next few days while the whole phone thing is even mildly relevant then sure, you can apologize. However I don’t think you need to, mainly because it wasn't a big deal, he probably will forget about it.
He was on the phone. You did not know who it was or what the convo was so I do not see what he did wrong. Respect his privacy while he was on the phone. Maybe it was his girlfriend?
