Girls, if you told a guy they have a cute smile does that usually mean they are good looking to some extent?

"To some extent" yeah that would mean by some extent there is an attractive thing about them. That is the meaning of that phrase. It does not mean that they are the complete package that the girl is looking for. Some people have nice hair but the rest of them you don't find particularly attractive. It is merely a compliment to someone. I would not generally take it to mean that is the end all be all of yep! she likes me. Sometimes nice people like to say nice things and give compliments to others to make them feel good. That isn't an open invitation to date and someone should never interpret as such. I'm sure somewhere at sometime you gave someone a nice compliment similarly to what you asked about without further intentions.

You're in your 30s, so I can't tell if you're joking or serious...

If a girl indicates that she's been looking at your face long enough to share with you that you have a good smile she's indicating low-key interest. I don't know precisely why anyone would be confused about that...

@red324, @WhiteBoyChill... Here you go... Even when a girl compliments a guy outright, he gets all caught up in some fugue wondering what a compliment from his non-mom, non-gf means. The compliment itself falls to the wayside and in a week the guy will join in some posted complaint about how guys never ever get complimented. 🙄 (@KrakenAttackin, looping you in since WBC looped you in on Red's earlier question from earlier this week.)

Smiles and eyes are safe complements. They are so subjective it's impossible to refute, and you can't really accuse the complementary of being a sexist pig. Now the problem is, being so generic, it's next to impossible to determine if it's meant as an indication of interest, or just an attempt to be polite.

It's one of the higher compliments you can give a man. The corner smile is one of my all time favorite things. It's so out of a mans control, pretty powerful to trigger that.
