No that doesn't mean that is what they are implying. People can be surprised that someone is single for a lot of reasons. That is one reason but not necessarily what it will be 100% of the time. It could be people look at someone's age and think wow they are older and single. There isn't anything wrong with being single but some people just assume that most find someone by certain ages. Why? I have no idea why they think everyone is going to have or even want to have a girlfriend or boyfriend. Some are more happy. Maybe they are suprised because they look at a person that is successful and think that. They figure you have your life pretty put together and that is the one missing piece. The point is that no matter why they are asking it is purely up to you if you want to get into a relationship or not and they are just being nosey by asking.
