Guys, what do you mean when you joke about being a girl’s brother?

Im not the only one encounter this.. my friend also faced it before and neither of us know what the guy trying to say

Recently, there is smtg happen to which I jokingly tell him “who are u to control me?” Then he say “im your brother” ? Not only that, sometimes when he jokingly wanna join my wedding invitation, he will say “i will come and act as your brother”

What -zone im belonged to right now. Friendzone? Brotherzone? Familyzone?
