What does it mean if guy friend is suddenly sending sexual memes?

i have a guy friend who recently started sending me reels. it started with 1-2 reels a day and went to 10-12 reels a day, all within a week. suddenly he has started sending me sexual memes/reels as well. some of them i don't even understand. he explained one of them too, saying I am just lying about not understanding. i just don't understand this change in behaviour. is it just his way of showing that he is comfortable with me or is there smth more to it? personally, i don't feel comfortable talking or joking about sex with guys so just wanted to know.

Update: today he sent me a screenshot of his Instagram chat with a girl wherein he had sent her a meme (containing a joke about penises) and was asking me what the reply of the girl means. i just- i know him since last year and he has always been quite closed off and i just don't know what changed

Time to tell him that you don't appreciate those innuendo and that you would prefer that he remains civil and not sexual with you.

His behavior is a clear indicator that he wants to get in your pants and not only is it a clumsy way of communicating it but also undignified because you are a victim of unwanted sexual harassment.

I would not hesitate to tell him to stop his toxic behavior. He is nothing more than a player that has no other purpose in life than to attempt to be sexual with his victims. You are certainly not the first of his victims and there will be many that follow.

I think her reply was a bit presumptuous that you are a "victim? and he has had others and that there would be more to follow. Has he done this to other women? You don't indicate anything of the sort in your question, so I don't know how in the world she would know that. But to your original question, you feel how you feel. If you do not like his behavior, tell him so politely and he will stop if he respects you and your friendship. If not, I would tell him that you will no longer be friends.

Seconding @sueshe at best, he is clearly unaware of how communication works, at worst, he is derailing. In both cases, you cannot rewrite his program, but you should tell him how you see the situation here
