Why will he not just say he isn’t interested?

I’ve been talking to an old flame for a while. He’s become less talkative over the past few weeks. He says he’s busy but we didn’t speak for five days at one point. I just said if he isn’t interested then it’s fine but he says I’m “assuming things”. I asked if he wants to meet and he said yes and that we could talk about it later that day. Well we never spoke later that day at all. And he hasn’t said anything since. It’s really obvious he isn’t interested and I don’t understand why he can’t just say so when I’ve asked. I’m just fed up with it so I’ve just called it off. Why is he doing this?

I would directly ask him if he’s loosing interest some people just don’t know how to communicate. If you feel it’s coming to a end just tell him I feel like we’re growing apart and we has a good run. I wish you well

Tell him that you understand if he’s busy but he should communicate. I think you deserve closure I have a lot more respect for a person who can be upfront and honest. Then I do for someone who isn’t

Don't dwell on why people are doing things. Try to just move on. The answer will never be what you want and won't give any closure
