I've never actually had them... but if I did, don't they involve fire?

They can include a bonfire yes. But there's ways to make them indoors such as the microwave and oven.
but I do like a fire... that's more fun (=
Siometimes it's tricky when the marshmallow doesn't want to come off of the skewer.
Sitting around a campfire sharing ghost stories before Halloween is nice... so yeah fall.
It is a real stretch of the imagination to call them a treat of any kind.
Why? It's very sugary, just like everything else in America. LOL
