Why do almost all guys find thigh gap attractive?

I have one friend who can't stop starring at my thigh gap from behind. I figured some of my other friends also does the same secretly and some guys at school mention such things that they find it so cute.

Personally I don't care but I want to know how guys think about such things.

I don't see girls talk about it or stare at other girls, why do guys stare there a lot and say it's cute / attractive?

I first heard it being discussed by other girls. I think it is originally a girl thing that guys picked up on. I am not saying it matters or even that it is good but if you have it, people will say things like “you should be a model” bc there is an idea that some body types are better for models to show off clothing, like thinner and taller body types. As for guys I think they prob. picked up on the term later and now for them it probably means physically fit. JMO!

I mean, the thigh gap fascination always seemed a little stupid to me but I think it's because a thigh gap is generally a sign that a woman is skinny/slim or has wide hips, both of which are considered attractive traits. (for some people..)

Thigh gap? More like "not fat," and just because women with a thigh gap tend not to be morbidly obese, we shouldn't conflate 'thigh gap' and 'not fat' as the same thing.

Now in your culture "thigh gap" might be a term used to describe it a lot, but look at a hawt sexy girl that doesn't have a thigh gap... is she morbidly obese? NOPE!!!

See, I can conclude just by the fact that men are looking at you like they are (with sexual desire), that you're not 50-100lbs overweight.

Oh yeah, we got the chubby chasers out there that say they love their big fat landwhales wobbling around, but let's be honest about those guys... what caliber of men are they? Can they even attract someone that isn't grotesque in some way? If they do, or when they do attract something decent-looking, is there money and material things involved? because that can be a factor to consider. Whores with extra steps don't count because they're not there for the same reasons. Those women are not posting shirtless pics of that guy with hearts and shit on their social media. I digress...

Bottom line, it's not the thigh gap, it's just not being fat. But I also agree that a certain degree of physical fitness might cause the thigh gap which could be another factor that I didn't think about until just now. ... Like those chicks that workout their butt and thighs 3 times or more a week.

Excellent answer. The other aspect is that a thigh gap is often correlated with wider hips, which are objectively more attractive.

@morganherrel Good point. Evolution has been handing out Darwin awards to lots of women with narrow hips as baby heads got bigger for our giant brains. The medical advances might have slowed that evolution process very recently, but I think it's pretty instinctual for a man to at least briefly consider, even if subconsciously.

My answer is now revised to include that...
1) Not morbidly obese
2) Not athletically hopeless or in decent shape
3) Wider hips reduce the chances that babies will rip her in half down there and have her bleed out and die before she can stuff a tiddy in the baby's mouth... thus also an evolutionary trigger for males.

Unfortunately, men's mind is ruled by their levels of testosterone and not by reason.

They start fantasizing about what is hidden behind that gap and other deviant thoughts about that girl. Sadly, this is how females are sexualized and objectified.

Fornication and copulation is what rules the deviant mind of men, or at leas a vast majority of them. They are slaves of their genitals and not master of them. That is unfortunate but that is how life is and how we girls are only seen as objects and not really human beings. Some of them even value us less than a dog. @sueshe No one knows exactly who wrote the Bible, but it's likely it was several individuals, and I'm pretty sure the books of Ruth and Esther were not written by men.

@sueshe If one subscribes to the Bible story of Creation... God created Adam first, then Eve, which is why it's Adam and Eve, not Eve and Adam. If one subscribes to the Theory of Evolution, there is nothing that would prevent Adam and Eve being the first Homo habilis, from which humans evolved. In short, we don't know which is correct, or maybe neither is correct. Unless someone creates a time machine and goes back in time, risking changing the timeline, we will never know.

The fact is, that with all the science we have no one has yet created a living organism.

So in the absence of how that happens, the theory of an existing all-powerful God who was able to make that happen cannot be ruled out.

And the longer science goes without being able to create something living, the more credibility the God theory has.

The Bible is highly metaphorical. There is no necessity to believe literally in an Adam and Eve in the sense that they are portrayed. Like so many other things in the Bible it is the stories and the lessons that contain what is purported to be divinely inspired information. And it is conveyed in many different metaphorical formats.

I don’t know about other guys, but for me it’s certainly not something I’d be looking at instinctively or even unconsciously. I think attraction is much more than that, it can’t be pinned down to one particular aspect of a woman’s body. But it can be something that attracts our attention in a certain context. It would probably involve me seeing the girl in a bikini. Or a situation where it’s very obvious.

The gap isn't attractive, and I've never even looked for one. But it would just mean she's fit, which is a requirement for me to be attracted to her. If she doesn't have one, it's pretty likely she's not fit.

I generally get put off by them. Thigh gap means slender legs. Slender legs normally correlate with a slender body type. Slender body type means, no curves. Hence, all you are left with is a very pretty face if you have to find anything visually great about the girl.
