Why might this guy be texting later toward the evening/night (7-10 pm)?

I started talking to this guy on social media after he replied to one of my Instagram stories, calling me "Hot." From there, we had light conversations about college, daily life, our pets, and some innocent flirting. We also exchanged selfies and discussed going to the gym together, as he's a gym guy. We both believe in God; I shared that I don’t have s*x unless I really like someone or there's meaning. He liked that and said he doesn’t sleep around. He would respond briefly during the day and more frequently at night. One evening, the conversation took an explicit turn, and we engaged in that type of talk again another night. At one point, he suggested that I come over to his place for s*x when his parents would be away for the month. He said we could cuddle, kiss, and have more time together. I told him I had plans and would check in later since I was out of town at the beach, to which he asked who I was with and even offered to drive over to see me, although I told him "yeah right, like you'd come see me" and he replied "when?"

I asked him if he wanted a "sneaky link," no-strings-attached situation, but he said no. Our conversations also became more sporadic. He would take longer to reply, sometimes responding in the morning and then not again until the following evening. I left one of his messages on seen after a long delay, and he later replied to one of my stories again, commenting "Hot" on a photo of me in a dress. I replied thank you and he replied the next evening (10 pm) "Hii." I replied and he asked me "how are you miss?" and I said I was good and asked him and said he was too, just busy. He asked me what I was doing and I said I was making a gift basket for my friend who just had a baby and he said "oh that's nice what'd you put in it" and I told him and he said "oh that's nice, that's very kind of you." I asked about his classes and he replied they were good, just boring but then he didn't reply to my message after that and it's been a full day.

Why might this guy be texting later toward the evening/night (7-10 pm)?
