He made eye contact, smiled at me softly… then started to look like he was daydreaming whilst still smiling at me… then he snapped out of it when I started talking to him… I’ve noticed that our conversations seem to flow more naturally and we talk more… has he developed feelings? Is he falling in love possibly? Or is it just lust?

But it’s not like he’s leering at you and objectifying you. This is a bit more innocuous in a way.

It could be lust or something else. Unfortunately when we have a desire to be loved we may see that happening where it isn’t. And the way a man looks at you is one way we may do that. Sadly, a look does not mean love. It can mean sinister things actually. Narcissistic men can stare at you deeply or look at you in a certain way and it looks like they have feelings for you but that doesn’t mean they won’t turn around and abuse you. What if he is jealous of you? A jealous person is able to do such harm to you, jealousy is a strong emotion. What if he’s just thinking “wow she must have money or she’s easy to get sex from” ?

A person can't give a soft look while having good intentions.

I've encountered such a person who thought exactly this about me and was extremely manipulative and enjoyed tormenting me.

The look they give is only ever cold or electric. Sometimes cutting. Never ever ever soft. Lesson learned.

I've had a girl I once kept staring at. I didn't look at her ass or anything, just her eyes. I would stay with her forever if she let me, even just wanted to be in her presence. Does that sound like lust to you? Every relationship others disagree with is going to be labelled as lust.
