Why does this happen?

Chatting with this guy online, I thought we hit it off pretty well for an online connection. Talked everyday, messages were huge paragraphs and so were our replies, felt like they were getting bigger and bigger. In the midst of our conversations, he said he was very interested in me and I echoed those feelings.

Things were fun and light and I was starting to actually enjoy getting to know someone and then he mentioned how our messages were getting big and maybe we should switch to text versus the app and after I replied, I haven’t heard from him.

We’ve only been chatting for about a week but so much has been said, it’s startling to me that he hasn’t replied because there's never been more than a few hours gap between our replies. I’ve heard about this stereotype where you think everything’s going well with a guy then it just stops, didn’t know how true it was.

Should I take this as a sign he’s just suddenly lost interest? Or is it perfectly fine that he hasn’t replied yet? It’s been about two days now, I’m just wondering what’s gone wrong or what I missed.

Since you don't know what happened you can't draw any conclusions. There could be many things to cause this. You should try to contact him again using both the app and text. Or even phone call if you have his number. Then give it some time.

I could guess maybe this or maybe that. But without knowing it's just guesses.

This could be nothing more than a power outage or equipment failure. I get a lot of outages where I live, so I even warn people ahead of time that I could suddenly lose power.

Same with my online long distance lover! We would talk for ages over the phone and he asked for a texting app. As soon as I was ready ghosted!

Another girl closer to him went out with him that night and they dated for 2 weeks. Ghosted over that!

Personal question? Did it get intimate like pictures or naked phone calls? Don't answer if you don't want the boys drooling over this!

Maybe he just lost interest and is done. Maybe he wanted some intimate and you never tried so he gave up?

OLD is so easy come easy go. ANY online communication is really. The reality is that until you meet that person face to face all you have is fantasy land... or basically a bag of nothing. It's important to check yourself and manage your expectations.

Really hard to say what happened, maybe he's in the hurricane zone and lost power? Maybe he was a she catfishing you. Maybe he lost interest, death in the family, maybe he was eaten by a bear. Could be anything.
