Is it common to just get ignored whenever you ask "hot strangers" for help?

when I get lost or am completely new to an establishment, I usually grab the nearest person to ask for directions. There were 3 times where I attempted to ask for directions to really attractive men. I never intended to hit on them. Just needed directions. All 3 times, they all ignored me. One of them had earbuds on and didn't even bother taking them off to hear my question. Another guy just turned away as I walked toward him.

Is it common for anyone else to experience this? Do attractive men just go ignoring everyone of the opposite sex that they don't find attractive? Or is it just specific to my city? I come from NYC. I honestly have never seen so rude and cold hearted.

Due to pretty much every guys history with women, especially attractive women, we're so used to being "trapped" where we try to innocently help a female out but end up getting royally screwed one way or another, we tend to just ignore random females because it's about an 80% even though you seem and act innocent, we're going to somehow get screwed over. It's better to just avoid any interaction at all.

If I'm busy I'll ignore the shit out of anyone. Like if I'm trying to get to work and someone tries to stop me, I'm not even going to acknowledge them. ESPECIALLY if I get any "I'm cute give me attention" vibes from them. I don't play that shit.
