There’s a man from a dating site who’s pursued me relentlessly who I’ll call ‘Bruce. Bruce knows personal stuff about me, like the fact that I was offered the chance at a genuine modelling career (something I never told him and I rarely discuss with anyone).

Bruce claims that we don’t know each other offline, but for him to know something personal about me, that indicates that either someone mentioned me to Bruce, or that Bruce lied about not knowing me. I spoke to my best friend and she said it’s suspicious. I think it is, too. I spoke to my mum and aunt and they both think it’s someone I know.

He either does know you and is lying, or he has done a lot of work looking you up on the Internet and finding things out about you.

You could block him, but with cases like him it will very likely just make him want to stalk you even more and probably with another account. Best thing to do would be to leave your account up and just create a whole new one. Let him think you're still on the other one and that you're just ignoring him. He'll give up after noticing you stopped talking after awhile.

It does sound suspicious that he knows something personal you've never told him. I suggest blocking him to be safe.

Yeah he's probably some creepy stalker guy that was in love with you in high school who never said anything to you and followed you around. His probably trying to hide his obsession, but he let it slip.

Trust me, no one will abduct you. You are paranoid for nothing. He could have seen you model and recognized you from there. Just be truthful to him and ask him how he knows so much about you
