Why would a guy constantly say he’s sleepy?

I’ll end the conversation by putting something like “haha” or “okay” then he’ll reply “sleepy *his name*”.

He does it constantly like he’s trying to start the conversation again, but will leave me on delivered for a day sometimes.

Haha or okay doesn’t always relay the end of a conversation and if you feel like it does then maybe he isn’t getting the message. Let’s say he does understand you’re ending the convo, that can be his way of acknowledging that by saying he’s tired, same as someone saying they’re ready for bed.
