Just wondering because my boyfriend does this a lot. He also does this when we’re sleeping or cuddling.

In a sense yes , most men love being dominate to a girl that he loves and values and appreciates He can also be territorial over a girl he gave his heart to as well Basically implying that she is all mine and no one else’s’ . Most men are natural protectors of a girl he gives his heart to , he likes making her feel safe and protected and secure being in his arms. So by him cupping you , is just his way of him saying you are his. Me personally is a dominate guy as well for the most part , I like being submissive as well at times but overall dominate , when it comes to loving and caring about a girl , I love submissive girls’ that love being in my arms that feel safe and secure by my side , when we sleep at night , she is either in my arms or my hand is holding her ass basically implying that I love you and care about you and appreciate you. My love language is touch , so if I am with a girl that doesn’t like touch like I do , she isn’t the girl for me. Girls’ that don’t really like touch that only want to be touched when it’s convenient for her , is a girl I will start losing interest in. I already experienced some of those types and they were the worst relationships I ever been in. I love girls’ that don’t hesitate to be in my arms and don’t hesitate to when it comes to intimacy and affection , especially when I don’t have to beg her for it. I love girls’ that want to be close to me , not girls’ that need constant space. Someone that needs constant space is usually someone that is up to no good. That only care about themselves and what it best for themselves. Someone that actually loves and cares about you , doesn’t need constant space from you whatsoever. mark my words, they are writing Sucker on your head without you realizing they are. Don’t fall for that shit whatsoever. A loving partner wants you the same way you want them , they will wear your shoes the same way you wear theirs , not the other way around. A partner that demands space from you is someone that doesn’t really care about you , they just like the convenience of you and the benefits they can receive from you , but they don’t truly love you. Whether they are up to no good or not , they are boring relationships to be in. Almost to the point of why do they want to be in a relationship in the first place if they don’t want to be close to you as much as possible? Go live your selfish single life elsewhere if that is the case. That’s just what I have experienced and witnessed through the years with girls’ that demand constant space , she isn’t the girl for me period and I will not stay with her if that’s the case. Basically thanks for a good time but not a long time

That’s NOT dominance , and matters so much more how you feel about it than the opinions of fold you have never met or are likely to meet.
If I did that it in an embrace with a woman it would likely represent my intentions on taking things further regardless of “what” I was cupping. It could be deemed a very assertive action I suppose but not really in a b/f G/f scenario.

For me it has to be him showing you his intent … you know the one that’s also poking you a little. ? 😂

Sorry but I don't quite get what you mean by "cupping". I have tried to find that term in the dictionary but it returns no significant result that could be applied to your question. The closest I can find is:

If by 'cupping' you mean grabbing part of her body (that's the closest I can find by searching the term --- not all of us are native English speakers), then no, not when you're in a relationship with someone, even if you're just starting out.
