What does it mean when a guy asks how much do you drink?

I was at a party recently with a crush and I think he feels mutual and he asked how much I drink in general?

Why would he ask that? We didn’t drink much at the party, I had two drinks.

It sounds small talk, making conversation if you two don’t really drink together or have drank together at all and it’s something you haven’t discussed before. You ask why he cares, it doesn’t take a great level of care to ask such a simple question, even i can ask how much you drink out of curiosity. But on a broader scale if you went to the party together or planned on leaving together then he may be trying to get an idea of your tolerance so you don’t get drunk. Dealing with sloppy drunkenness can ruin the whole night.

Just trying to find out how much you go out partying in clubs or if you get 2 bottles of wine down you with the "girls" often.
