I met a guy on vacations at my hometown, do guys only see you as a friend?

Well he’s a very educated, upper middle class, the son’s owner of the liquor store where I met him. On social media i see he doesn’t follow a lot of people or women and only post his trips.
Here and there he’s asks me when I’m going back so we can organize an adventure or just a casual date. One time he ask me to listen to a song and the song said “I can be the next guy” I lost my previous number and he took awhile but ended yo asking for my new number back. Thats it. If I post a story with a guy he waits and asks me if I’m going back and thats it. He just told me he wishes to see me again. I met him when I was buying alcohol lol and I was not even wearing my best outfit. The thing is he’s a respectful educated guy that’s why I’m curious why he keeps around when I post memes and im not like him after one year.

Well, it's hard to say for sure, but it does kinda sound like this guy might just be seeing you as a friend right now. Even though he's asking to see you again and showing interest, the way he's interacting with you doesn't seem super romantic.

The fact that he's not following a lot of women on social media and just kinda checks in here and there about you visiting makes me think he might just be enjoying your friendship and company, but isn't necessarily trying to pursue anything deeper. He could just see you as a casual acquaintance or friend.

That being said, the comment about the song lyric and him getting your new number again does suggest he might be interested in you romantically. So it's possible he's just being really cautious or reserved about it.
