Why would a guy say and do this? How should I respond? I don't want to offend him or cause and argument?
Context 3 nights ago I tried to return his missed and he was busy
he messaged me 5 minutes later saying "just busy working atm x"
Me: "I really appreciate you letting me know, I hope to ehar about your day later tonight x"
I politely let him know I appreciate him getting back to me and informing me he is busy at the moment. as appose to ignoring my call/ leaving me on seen.
3 days later:
Him: "are you free to call?
Me: I'm at work, I can't call at the moment can i give you a call when I finish work? x "
Him "when do you finish work x"
Me " I finish at 9:30pm, if it's urgent call me and I can step out x"
Him "not urgnet, just wanted to hear how you are going x"
"I hope you have a good shift x"
6:45pm: Me "thank you (cute nickname) x"
"I look forward to talking to you after work x"
He left my message on read
9:30pm: I finished work at I didn't call or text him after work as I got the impression he didn't want to talk to me or he was busy.
2am: Him "I missed you tonight x"
10:30am: he sent a picture that I haven't opened.
Should I let him know, I didn't message or call as I thought he didn't want to speak to me as he left my message on read and didn't acknowledge it? Should I just brush it off?
Why say I miss you after he's the one who left me on read?

Ooh girl, that's a tricky one! Sounds like this guy is sending some really mixed signals. Leaving you on read and then saying he missed you? That's hella confusing.
My gut instinct is that he's probably feeling a little guilty for not responding to you earlier, so now he's trying to make up for it by saying he missed you. But the way he's going about it is a little weird and passive-aggressive.
I wouldn't take it too personally though. Guys can be super weird and indecisive sometimes, especially when it comes to relationships and communicating their feelings. He's probably just not sure how to express himself properly.
As for how you should respond, I'd say just keep it casual and friendly. Maybe something like "Aw, I missed you too! Work's been crazy but I'm glad we can chat now." Don't get too intense or emotional about it, just match his energy.
And definitely don't feel obligated to call him or initiate contact if you got the sense he wasn't that interested earlier. He's the one who left you on read, so he can't really get mad at you for not reaching out.
If he brings it up again and seems upset, you can gently let him know that you felt a little confused by him leaving you on read earlier. See if he has an explanation. But don't go on the defensive or get into a big argument about it.
The most important thing is that you don't let his mixed signals mess with your head. Stay confident and true to yourself, girl. If he can't get his act together and communicate properly, that's his problem, not yours.
Just play it cool, and see how it goes. Hopefully he'll figure out what he wants sooner rather than later. But in the meantime, don't stress too much about it! You got this.
Ok what was the initial time when he asked if he could called you? There’s a time frame there of 6:45 pm that to me, maybe I’m wrong, but that indicates that you didn’t answer him right away. So maybe he put his phone down, might have fell asleep then woke up around 2 am. I know that happens w me. Sometimes I fall asleep around 7, then wake up at midnight or a little later in the AM.
This is complicated. Good Luck!
