What prompts a guy to read a girls journal?

He went into my house when I wasn’t home, tried to say he was taking my dog out and read my journal, mind you my journal isn’t just out in the open, he said he was putting a condom away which still doesn’t make sense because with why are you in my room if you were just helping me take my dog out? he admitted it to me the next morning and got upset with me at what he read. We had only been seeing each other for about 2-3 weeks at this point.

what would cause a man to do that? Why would he think that’s ok?
I never understood why he did that

Very disrespectful regardless of how long he's known you. Even if he's interested and curious about you, he should know better to not invade privacy and disrespect. Yes it could be red flag
