Psychologically, why do men like to dig their fingers into your hair & scalp while kissing?

We had our first kiss. Both of us are a bit reserved and shy (though he’s a bit more dominant.) We were hugging each other firmly with our full bodies. I went in for a soft kiss, and he ended up French kissing me in return. He took his hand and dug his fingers into my scalp, and it was so wonderful and sexy. 🙈😆 We grabbed each others hands and clasped them, and gave each other alittle squeeze, and then I left to go home.

I like running my fingers through my hypothetical SO's hair because it feels intimate kind of in the same way cuddling is. I'd like it if a girl played with my hair. Also, your hair holds a significant amount of your scent and when you are attracted to someone it's actually incredibly common for their scent to be enjoyable to you.

People forget all we're just monkeys that got super good a pattern recognition. It never made sense to me people thought liking the way someone smelled was creepy. Almost all animals communicate and bond with scent in some way humans are no different. I always thought it was weird, people thought it was weird actually.
