If a guy shows these signs towards a girl does he like her?

context he’s my coworker. He’s very professional, but I have noticed these signs.

1) stares at a distance, looks down when I catch him. This happens regularly,

2) engages in intense eye contact, like longer than normal when talking. Like a gaze really.

3) stares at you in meetings even when there’s lots of other people in the room. It actually feels like there’s no one else in the room.

4) acts nervous or awkward when one to one, fidgets with drink bottle, drops keys in front of you.

5) Sometimes when we talk about work and he first sees me, kind of looks stunned like a deer in lights and has to think about what he’s saying.

6) Responds super quick to my messages (like within minutes if he’s there) but never initiates.

7) however he never approaches.

He’s usually a confident friendly guy, but not openly flirtatious though.

Does he like me or am I imagining it?

Sounds like he fancies you.
What you do about it may make or break the relationship you have with him professionally. He sounds like he's shy and besotted so tread carefully. It's bold of you to outright approach him but not out of the park impossible for YOU to initiate it. Do it kindly and with compassion, like you say he may be like a dear/deer in headlights and bolt into oncoming traffic and kill it off. On the other hand being gentle and forthright or create an opportunity for some socialising either together or more open with colleagues might break the barrier to his reservedness.

One way to find out is to make it easy for him to talk to you, without being too obvious provide him with ideal opportunities cof him to talk to you. I don't know they do it coffee breaks where you work but where work there is a machine that grinds fresh Bea x gor every cup of coffee a d hives you a choice of house blend, hot chocolate, hot milk chocolate, cappuccino, French Vanilla etc... and it's I. The cafeteria and complimentary. Most gl there for a coffee. If you have a similar place at your work you could tell him you're going to go grab a coffee does he want to get one with you. Then he'll have a chance to talk to you.

That's standard. He won't approach unless 1) he knows it is safe to do so and 2) he has a reasonable belief that he may succeed.

He needs to know that you are 1) available and maybe looking, 2) not a lesbian, 3) you have clearly not given any sense that you'd reject him or a guy like him - that he is within your acceptable limits for "your type".

I don't have time right now to give more advice but if you want him, you should consider giving him signs of what I mentioned above. I could definitely help you with that, but not at the moment since I have extra work bullshit to deal with.
