Any guy or person will act shy, and you may catch them looking and they quickly dart away.. He might have a harder time talking to you and look down whenever he's in your presence.. You may eventually start to notice little signs since guys by nature are more straight forward..

From my own experience, here are the signs. I'm sure there are probably a few more, but... guys are all a little different so there are possibly a few signs I haven't encountered.

1. Mixed Signals: You think he's just messing with you, bc one second he seems hot for you (standing close, paying rapt attention to every little thing you're saying, making a lot of eye contact, smiling/laughing, touching you a little, etc.) and another second he seems cold/distant (ignoring you, looking away, stepping away, turning his back to you, etc.). He's making space to consider his feelings. Don't go up to him. Let him have his space.

2. He'll offer his help but won't mention it again. He'll quietly get the tab for your coffee/meal without asking you (which is sort of a gentlemanly/boyfriend sort of move) and won't mention it, as if it's a natural thing, but then he doesn't hang around to get the reward.

3. He is trying to stay casual in his tone and gestures but is suddenly clumsy with his words or gestures. Guys will try to be smooth 007 types but then trip on their words, spill a drink on you, etc. They're not naturally clumsy, they're just trying to keep their feelings (or apparently their horniness) in check.

4. He'll automatically look at/touch/smile at/chase you and then catch himself and try to act cool. Some guys have FOMO so they instinctively come for you but then try to act cool. (Like the guy who chased me across campus back in school and when I stopped and greeted him, waiting to see what he wanted, thinking it was something urgent for him to go racing across the quad for me... he asked if i drink coffee... and then forgot to ask me if I wanted to go have coffee with him... (took him a week to realize that bit, which made me laugh).)

There's more, but you get the general idea. It's part of an involuntary "push-pull" communication many people kind of use by default when they like someone but are reserved/shy.

First of all is the responding behind hiding it. Is he hiding it because he’s chosen he will never act on it, know she’s not compatible, or is just someone he doesn’t feel comfortable with dating, or is ashamed of having a crush on OR…. Is he simply just nervous.

Look. Just ask him directly and if you’re into him express it nothing is a hundred percent but. The extremes either he is giving you a lot of attention, talking about you a lot, and stuff like that or maybe he avoids you not super rudely but just kind of keeps distance but doenst seem to feel uncomfortable by you either.

It’s hard to tell sometimes if someone likes you but is nervous or is just uncomfortable around you so they get nervous as well as awkward

When someone in real life or online likes you he would do extreme things.. Extreme ignoring or extreme caring or liking or responding to your posts, or even calling you... Sometimes when the opposite person likes you he or she will ask you about your personal life, things an ordinary friend wouldn't ask you about...

Sometimes they want your number, and others would make you feel jealous, or tease you...

What I learned is that when someone likes you he/she will not be acting like an ordinary person around you or treat you like anyone... When someone ignores you too much that person things about you in a certain way and also when He/She immediately responds or calls or always is there.
