Why is he texting me and not responding?

I met this guy a week ago and he immediately expressed interest. He’s texted me first every single day calling me flirting with me. He just made me feel wanted. He told me he wanted someone to build
With and that he was a good guy that didn’t play games. We finally met up on Friday and he asked for $20 for food i gave him the $20 then a few hours later he asked for $50 to smoke with and he said if i couldn’t give him the $50 then it’s okay. And i said no.

After i said no he texted me asking how my day was going and never replied back then today he texted me “hey” and i responded with “hi” and he hasn’t responded back.
He told me he didn’t have money and had to wait until Friday before he gets paid again.

yeah, i kind of do. he's letting you know that he doesn't have much money as well and is testing your reaction to that. but if he's constantly talking about money and possibly stressing about it that could be a bad thing.
