What does it mean when my crush's friend always stare at me?

Whenever my crush's friend sees me he always stares at me or he is smiling staring at me. My crush was aware I like him a long time ago before he befriended this dude but nothing happened with it beside him being nice about it. My crush hasn't paid attention to me in awhile and almost ignores me when I'm around. His friend doesn't. One day my crush and this friend was in the room and my crush was minding his business not looking at me at all. They were talking to each other (not about me) but the whole entire time his friend was staring at me smiling.
