What does it mean if your crush's friend looks at you?

Anonymous
Last Monday, my crush (a girl)'s friend looked at me a lot of times at the cafeteria. I was sitting quite far away from them, and my crush's body wasn't pointed in my direction, so the only person who could look at me was her friend.

But I mean, their seats were in diagonal to mine (and they were quite far from me).

So I don't think it was purely coincidental that she looked at me a few times (or at what seemed to be my direction). I mean, what she was doing was : Looking at me, then looking at my crush (+ talking with her).

So I feel like she was doing that to report to her whether or not I was staring at her.

PS: Just to add things into context, the night before this happened, I had texted my crush, asking for some help with a school project. We each sent around 4 messages. We both used some emojis in our texts (ex: she used the winky emoji, the laughing one, the "ok" hand emoji, etc. And a few hours before what happened at the cafeteria, I initiated a convo with my crush (right before class started). So I'm guessing that maybe my crush talked about it to her?

PS: The next day, my crush wasn't there, but that same friend was at the same place, talking with another girl. I was sitting exactly at the same spot as the day before, and she looked at me like twice (instead of 5-9 times, etc). So yeah, I think that supports my speculations.

Here's some other infos:
-She responds to my texts quite fast (1 min, 3 mins, 8 mins and the longest so far was 18 mins)

-Tries to fill in the blanks during a convo (ex: I once said "hi! how are you?", she replied and after that, I was too shy to say something and keep the convo going, but then she started talking about problems she encountered on her way to the school. I mean, we never had any REAL convo before (not in person, at least), so I think this could be a good sign).

Actually, I texted her once (last week). I will text her soon again to see how she reacts this time.

-She used emojis in her texts: winky emoji, "Ok" hand emoji, "laughing" emoji, etc.

-She listens (and sometimes reacts) to what me and my friends are saying to each other (she does that quite a lot). Like, sometimes she just looks at us, sometimes she's laughing a little bit, sometimes she talks to us, etc.
