Do you think this male is mentally unstable and even a psychopath?

He can start a fight which can lead to violence almost every day. It can be something as trivial as you asking for a remote control or just to be driven to a certain place. Often he fights more than once on the same day and has threatened to kill you several times. He beat up his wife and son for years. Sometimes he starts talking like a kid and it doesn’t sound funny. He just looks creepy and like a mental case. He is very shrewd and never shows his real behaviour towards his victim to the outside world. He pretends to be very polite outside of the house. He has gone to jail more than once. On one occasion, it was because he beat someone in his college. He also never cries.

Could he be a psychopath?

How would you handle the situation if you depended on him?

The son seems safer to be around but he is extremely selfish and wouldn’t help. His wife is either scared of him or supports him.

We can't diagnose someone from afar, but that is psychopathic behavior. Or at minimum, it's extreme narcissism.

As to how I would handle it, I would get out of that situation as fast as I could. That's the kind of person who will destroy everything he touches, including me.

If I depended on him then I would work really hard to not depend on him, and do it in a way that he couldn't detect, so that when I left it was quick and sudden and final.

I don't know if he's a psychopath but he sure sounds like someone i don't want around me
