Guys, Why does he not text me but whenever we are together he is initiating conversation and seeks me out?

So I have this roommate we have lived together for 5 years now and for the last month we've gotten extremely close. Not sex close but close. Whenever he is home he is always talking to me and inviting me to hang out, inviting me out to lunch, doing really nice things for me which are little but I appreciate like making me coffee in the morning just the way I like it, and we talk about everything I literally know all of his history (he knows mine) and he comes to me to vent and our conversations have been flirty and sexual at times as well. But lately when I text him he literally never replies ever, and we both see each other every night but not once during the day will he reply. Does he just see me as a friend then?
