What does it mean when your crush reacts like this to receiving a gift?

So I have a crush on a guy at work and he says good morning to me every day at work, without fail.

Weve been talking since December and interactions have gradually intensified. This week was very full on.

I had a day off on Monday (which id mentioned to him twice previously, that I was going to be off)

On Tuesday morning, he came over to me and he seemed jittery. He told me about some personal issues about family and we had a long chat. Later on, I saw him in the corridor and I was wearing my lab coat. He looked me up and down several times. In the afternoon, we had another long chat and I complimented his aftershave, so he held his wrist up right in my face so that I could smell it.

Wednesday and most of Thursday, he seemed cooler in his interactions.

Thursday afternoon, he came over to chat and I gave him a packet of his favourite biscuits and some chocolate. His whole face went bright red and he couldn’t stop grinning. He said thank you several times and said how kind of me it was. He also kept staring at me, looking at my lips and moving closer.

All I know is that we are halfway through May and if he hasn’t asked you out yet then there’s a reason for it. Men aren’t stupid, so when you’re googly eyes for him are popping out of your head, you’re holding gazes sharing secrets and all that jazz, you couldn’t make it more obvious that there’s a chance for him to take. If he’s shy then you’ve removed any uncertainty he may have about mutual interest with your behavior and words alone. So what else could it be? Fear of dating a coworker? Too much going on in his life to date? An ex or someone he’s interested in that’s already in the picture behind the scenes? There’s a reason you’re being kept at arms length.
