Sit and hope that she approaches. I've seen guys far better looking than I am who are too afraid to approach, so they lose out.

Fear of rejection and the ensuing feelings. But if they will just try a couple of times the will realize that it's really nothing -- they are better than they were because at least they know, and there's a possibility they will get a date.
