He is Chinese and I am Italian. We met yesterday and stayed up all day and night talking until I finally fell asleep. During our conversation, we talked about our majors and how stressful university is. I mentioned how I have barely even slept these past few days, and when he noticed how late/early (4 am), he told me that I should get to bed and playfully but somewhat seriously lectured me about how important sleep is for my health. Before he left, he mentioned that he likes playing guitar and singing and asked if he could sing me a song before I go to bed. When I said yes, sprinted to his dorm room to grab his guitar and then sang me Galway Girl by Ed Sheeran.
He sounded amazing! I'm kind of confused at what it means though. Was he just proud of his skill and wanted to share it with me because he is passionate about music, or is it something deeper than that? Was the song choice significant, or was it just one of his favorite songs?
The last time a guy serenated me was in high school, and it was more of a playful gesture. This felt different.
I know I should just ask him instead of strangers on the internet, but I am embarrassed.
Thank you and I'm sorry if my English is poor.
He is my new dormmate's brother.
He is 21.
I am actually 20.
Embarrassingly, I made this account when I was 16 and wanted to be older, so I lied about my age.
