Have you put your affairs in order?

A man died instantly (within a few minutes) on the 1st of the year in my area... Was driving down the road he's always driven, a car pulled out and wham! He was gone. His car absorbed the impact amazingly... but not well enough.

Life is wonderful for many of us... but it is also fleeting in a second. So be thankful you are reading this... you are alive!

Do you have your affairs in order, in case you are recalled back into whence you came from?

If not, what will motivate you to do that?

- whom will care for your pets

- whom will you give your stuff to

- what do you want done with what is left over of you?

- etc etc..

My grandma died last week. I've been in north Carolina the since last Thursday figuring out her estate. She left my uncle and aunt behind and they both have brain injuries from a car accident. One of them is sick. I had to figure out the funeral and the property laws down here are actually kind of insaine here. I don't know how we'd do this if I didn't own a business where I can kinda just work remotely when I have to.

And the worst part is there's all these vulchers coming in like snakes in the grass.

My uncle said nothing spins faster than a dead person's money. Only there's barely enough to take care of my family it's so fucked.

I'm buying life insurance as soon as I get back to jersey. And I'm buying one for my mom. This is so uncool.

A motorbike mate met a concrete signal post on 1st Jan. He's gone.
It made me re-think my own shit.
Would I put my own affairs ' in order'?
Well... I had my own bike serviced throughly.
My dogs: will be loved by my primary girlfriend and the step grandson.
My belongings will be free to be grabbed by the quickest one.
My funeral/disposal costs are business of my local embassy, I guess.

Yeap, I keep my will updated every year. Who gets my pets, who gets my weapons and tools, who gets my land, who can have my house and trailer, who can access my investments and accounts etc.

Exactly. I want my loved ones taken care of, so that's what I'll do. I dont particularly care what they do with my body. Bury me, burn me, make me into a chair, throw me in a ditch or eat me. Whatever.

I haven't planned anything officially. My parents are my next of kin and they are aware of my wishes.

My siblings also know what I want.

No, not fully. About 80% of it. And after my mother passing a few months ago I was initially quite motivated to get that taken care of after her funeral, etc. But since then I've kind of lost the drive to. Those that would be the beneficiaries don't seem to care. And if they don't I guess, why should I? When I'm dead it's not like it's going to affect me any.
