When a guy coworker says I couldn’t hold it in anymore and have to say hi to you?

Basically I typically don’t say hi first for the most part so this guy says that but he usually greets everyone he sees first so I don't know why he expects me to greet him first all the time

You don't know, we don't either. But i can tell you that "can't hold it anymore" is not a good place to start. It's actually awful. It means that he's been having the intuition that it needs to be kept to himself. Not only that, but in his mental battle whether to "say hi" or not to, he built up stress. And he's forcefully pushed through it. That's exactly how intuition feels when it tells you not to do something. When intuition tells you to DO something, and you're debating whether to listen to it, in a way that must make him appear a bit worked up in the process? It would rather manifest in a tone of "i definitely would feel like i left you behind if i don't say hi". ㅤ
