Why does my coworker greet only me in his language and not others?

He speaks another language and he will greet me only in his language unlike others like why?

A very clumsy attempt at trying to get your attention. He probably thinks that he is being smart by addressing you in a foreign language.

However, he most likely tries to get you to be a little closer to him as I see it that he may have intentions with you.

Depending on how your respond to him, he may continue or not. If you ignore him and don't answer back, then he is likely going to stop this habit and start greeting you in your language.

Let him know that his attempts are not being successful and that he should refrain from doing it.

Sue, please watch out for this woman’s posts regarding this situation. There’s key pieces of context that will stand out for next time. This woman is blatantly excluding the fact that this man is new to the workplace, barely speaks English and was paired with her because she’s the only other person who speaks his language. Not to mention he’s married with kids and mainly only talks to her about that. I’m starting to think that responses like yours are the ones she seeks. She wants to be told that he’s attracted to her, or romantically interested just because he has sat with her at lunch and walked with her to their cars. However he doesn’t really know anyone else so that makes sense. She also has stated that she only has female friends. I tried being helpful in the beginning but now this is just odd.

Id say you make him feel comfortable to be able to be himself. Think about it... He speaks his language to you. Not what the world makes him think he is suppose to be. I think this thing you are calling a problem is him liking you more then he does everyone else.

Maybe im overthinking it. But the world is what we imagine it to be you think its a problem i think its cute as can be and an opportunity for love.
