Mixed signals from a guy friend after rejection and breakup—does he like me?

Okay , so I used to like this guy, and I got his number. We became friends. Then I confessed to him. He said he used to like me but not anymore. So I moved on. He once asked if we could go fishing together when I said no and that I couldn't even fish he was like I'll teach you. Then another time I invited him to an event the day before he canceled he because he forgot he had plans. Anyway we were doing like a movie/music video with a friend for a project. He said he looked stupid in his costume and I said I did too then he said no you dont you look normal. And I'm confused he always looks at me during class, and we sometimes talk and call. He recently got broken up with. Anyway the point is does he like me? [I know stupid but I just need some help or advice anything?]

At this age, emotions are like a rollercoaster. One day you like someone, the next day you hate them. That is part of growing up and the hormones are playing crazy.

He may have said that he does not like you but his actions speak something else. Somehow, he is looking for validation from you with his costume and you gave him the answer he wanted to hear from you.

However, you state that he just broke up and I feel that he is looking for a replacement. Simply be careful as it seems that you have feelings for him, that he does not just use you ace a placeholder.

People think we fall in love but thats not how it works. We grow love. You two have all the right intentions to have love but lack the actions to prove it to each other.

Metaphorically tell him you think he looks normal in his costume to.

I think that was his indirect, guy way of saying he likes you.

Also that fishing thing is so cute. That is exactly what y'all need to do to find out if you would like to explore a relationship together.

Personally I think you both like each other and are letting fear hold you back. Dont think about everything so much just live in the moment like during whatever you dressed up for. 💛

If you made a move on him don’t pursue it some people play games and some mixed signals come from someone not knowing what they want…… one day they like you the next they don’t but some people aren’t mature enough to deal with these feelings maturely.

If he wants you bad enough. He will make an effort and one that’s consistent. It’s not worth playing games. He maybe is scared of getting hurt. Maybe he’s intentionally playing games. Maybe he has mixed emotions

If he’s narcissistic many people like that want supply….. and they want a backup plan. They like keeping someone interested enough to serve them and feed them energy. But also manipulating emotions.

But not everyone who displays mixed signals are narcissistic. A lot of times it does signal genuine affliction. But they aren’t mature enough to handle it correctly by communicating. By going on dates and seeing if it materializes or not. Etc….

It's possible his feelings have shifted again, especially post-breakup. But it's also possible he enjoys your attention and friendship without wanting a relationship.
