What’s the weirdest thing a stranger has ever asked you in public?

At the gym this guy was on a machine next to me and he asked me why I’m so uptight. Wtf does that mean 💀💀

It wasn’t necessarily a question, but back when I was a bouncer, I was just manning my post at the door, checking IDs, keeping an eye on everything, and probably just watching whatever game was on TV and joking around with the other bouncers and maybe the cocktail waitresses.

Really ordinary night, nothing had happened, not even any minor problems at the door with IDs. And I was REALLY well-liked by customers, because I was always polite and friendly to incoming patrons; I wasn’t on my scary, intimidating bouncer thing. I liked to think of myself as an ambassador for the business. I say all that just to say that I don’t think there was anything that night or any night before where I had presented myself in some unlikable way, and no negative interactions with any customers on the way in.

So I was very surprised, and still am to this day, when some random chick walked up to me, looks me dead in the eyes, and in an annoyed voice goes “GET OVER YOURSELF”, and turns around and goes back to her table and friends.

I don’t think I looked over at her afterwards; I think I was looking at my coworkers like “okayyyyy…what the fuck was that?” I probably should have looked over, because maybe I’d have gotten some clues from her friends’ reaction. I just let it go, I wasn’t going to chase her down and demand an explanation, maybe start an argument while I’m just trying to work.

But yeah, that was SUPER weird, and I just didn’t understand it. I don’t lose sleep over it, but I’d love to know what prompted it😂

I had a black dude walk up to me in a bar and ask if i was racist. I responded with “No more than the next guy”. To which he replied “What if the next guy is a racist?”. I said, “Like i said, no more than him!”. Then we both laughed. He continued, “I had to ask. You being a bald white man and all.” Then he took his hat off and i noticed he was bald too. So i asked, “Wait a minute. Are YOU a racist?”. He smiled and said “No more than you.” and sat down right next to me. We had a good time drinking and getting acquainted. I never saw him again though. I wish i’d had the forethought to get his number.

When people ask me, “Do you live here? Do you have family here? Like who exactly lives here with you? Do you live alone or with family?”
TF all these questions for, people knowing your routine and not even someone/neighbor who lives with/by you?

Are you setting a murder case? Am I your next victim? That’s all I’m thinking? I answer calmly and safely, of course, but these questions are strange for a stranger to ask that you meet for the first time.
