What does it mean if a guy follows a girl’s spam account on Instagram?

so this guy recently started a new internship and he went out to a gathering with the other interns at the end of the week. and then he follows 2 girls and 1 of them has another spam (i assume) account with less than 10 followers/following and he ends up being another one of the followers/following.
not looking for hate here/'just ask him'. what are the possibilities cause i know girls don't let just anyone follow their spam account? (i do think she followed him first which is what led to him following back)
but does this mean the girl could be interested in him and he's also interested?

Just a rule of thumb, it's not possible to understand someone from their actions unless you can compare it to their baseline. If he uses Instagram a lot and his profile is public the answer for now is simply "he followed her account and I want to know why" and you may have to sit in that discomfort until you know more

im not an intern and the guy is slightly younger than me. he's doing an internship after his masters

i don't know if im making a mountain out of a molehill cause i do know that i shouldn't be doing all this stalking/analysing (as said by other comment) cause he hasn't done anything wrong. he still texts me as usual but i guess it's all reading the stories about how men still cheat even when they seem normal.
