What does it mean when a guy follows you on Instagram?

So a few days ago, a guy I didn't know followed me on Instagram. I asked a few friends if they knew who he was and they said they didn't either, but we all agreed that he was cute and he's my type so I followed him back. He only follows one other girl I know but they don't have any connections to one another. And a few days later, I posted a few pictures of myself and he liked the post within 10 minutes of it being on my account. Does this mean anything? I've had a few friends say that means he's just nervous too, but I don't know. I just don't want to get my hopes up (and I want to mention that I have really bad social anxiety so it isn't as easy as just DMing him and ask him if he knows me, it makes me kinda uncomfortable lol).

It's Instagram. I'm an author with a small following of 9k, primarily men in India. They are loyal af as readers and they love my pics. I adore them as fans. But would I take anything serious on Insta? No. Do I answer their messages? No. It's social media. Unless you have some kind of connection to them, like through mutual friends, beware of catfish trolling for vulnerable profiles.
