What does mean when a guy who doesn't like you [as person] follows you on Instagram out nowhere?

Now I know that I'm overthinking and the question is quite dumb, because it probably doesn't mean anything, but this really bothers me and I just want to stop thinking about it.

We're in same a class for past 4 years (this is our last year of highschool) and I can't stand him, I also feel it's mutual. He was always unfriendly and a-hole to me, but I go in the class with most of guys (there's few of us girl in it) so I'm aware that's how most of them behave (for example they love to make fun of little things they know about you or humilate you because they found it funny). Anyway we also have little to nothing in common so I don't see point in why would he follow me when I know he's not interested in being friends with me. We don't have same friends and we don't share any mutuals except these people from our class.

I accepted his request and requested to follow him back because we're in same class (he accepted immediately which was also lowkey weird because from what I know it's rare that people accept your request so fast). I don't know, if we ever talked properly I wouldn't found this weird at all, but on this way... it is.

My first question is why did you accept the request if you dislike this guy so much. Then to wonder why he follows you? Well, he does because you allowed him to. Isn’t that pretty self explanatory? I’m confused by this question. If you didn’t want him following you and you don’t like him, why accept the request?

Do you see what I’m getting at and why this makes no sense? I’d be wondering why I accepted in the first place. That’s your own doing. Remove him as a follower then and problem solved, right? Then you can have peace of mind he is not seeing you content.

I think that is the best solution and you can put this issue to rest. No more wondering if he isn’t following you. As for why (other than you allowed it) who knows…

I am unfortunately not a mind reader so I have no idea why he would. I wish I could read minds. It would be mighty useful here on this site.

Highly possible he really likes you. You write this: "I know he's not interested in being friends with me" -- unless you've asked him point blank and that's what he told you, you DON'T know that. It's HUGELY possible you are his crush.

He might actually like you. Some guys can be like that. Mean to people they like. Or it might be because he's jealous/curious.
