Guys, is there a reason for you to be speechless around a girl other than having a crush on her?

Uh... She's a demi-goddess and I am stunned by her metaphysical resplendence. She's... A cthonic monster and she petrifies me in pure fear.

Or else she's like, one of those lesbians who have a crowd of girls fawning all over her, and doesn't speak at all, only whispers to one of her girls to pass her the benzedrine. The kind of girl that looks through you and not at you. That's been sort of extinct since the 1920s, though. We've got bisexuals like that now, we had one who wore nothing but a bra and a plaid skirt and wouldn't acknowledge anyone, and if spoken to merely gave a discontented sigh - if she liked you enough.

Or else... She uh, performs remarkable feats every time I'm near her. She's like, a gymnastic monster truck stripper who performs fellatio upon killer whales monetarily through burning hoops. I'd be speechless then. Even at that though, I might conjure up a 'Wow!'

Or... I'm a serious acid freak, and I get so spaced I forget how to talk.

There really isn't a lot that'd make me speechless, even if I did like her, sorry. I can't get into that mindset much.

If I feel she is an 'alpha' girl, used to a leadership role, and has a rehearsed way of talking so you don't see her real feelings very often, then I tend to wait until I can get an idea of what she really thinks, what she is really like, before I talk to her.

Also, that forces her to ask ME, to take the initiative to start a conversation. Whether she will do that or not is always an interesting test of her overall character AND of whether she is at all intrigued by ME!

In any sitation of uncertainty, when you don't know someone, it's often best not to jum into a conversation unless you have to.

For example, if you have to work together. Even then I try to ask around, if I can, to get some idea whom I'm dealing with.

It could be interest and nerves about talking to her--it could also be that she's very different, whether quiet or from a significantly different background, and he doesn't know how to relate to her. This depends on his own background, but just wanted to bring it up as a possibility.

Sure... 1) You don't like her and notice she's always listening in on your conversations, 2) you don't like talking about personal stuff around strangers, 3) you are shy around people you do not know (i.e. he talks to his friends, but not to everyone), 4) You have nothing to say to her, 5) You are ignoring her for whatever reason, etc.
