A blue collar or a white collar guy, girls which one would you prefer to date?

Please spare me the "it doesn't matter what a guy does for living as long as he love me" speech. I don't see most guys that work in fast food restaurants being popular or wanted by the ladies.

The perception has always been white collar is better than blue collar. It's generally believed that white collar workers have a higher education, much better pay, a higher ceiling of potential advancement/pay, and more importance to their companies than blue collar workers.

On the other hand, blue collar workers are perceived to be laborious, dirty, and have limited earning potential. It's not always the case, but those are the stereotypes out there, which in some cases couldn't be the furthest from the truth. Some blue collar jobs require extensive knowledge and training and pays accordingly, e.g. electricians, diesel and airplanes mechanics, just to name a few.

However, more times than not, girls would prefer to date a lawyer that makes 90,000$ per year on average than a guy that owns a lawn company making $140,000 per year. The fact is society has stigmatized blue collar workers, and as a result there are many women openly or privately that would select to date them secondary to white collar workers.

Girls which one would you prefer to date and why? Honest answers please; thanks!

If you already have all the answers, then why are you asking. You put out a question, then told the answerer not to give a certain type of answer because YOU believe it not to be true and then went ahead and answered the question for yourself.

I don't care what the guy does. If he is treating me right, is responsible and we love each other, then it doesn't matter to me.

I make decent money and am not worried about that. That is my HONEST answer.

I answered it from my perspective as to why I feel the the discrimination should exist. I'm not a woman, so I wanted a woman's perspective. Did you notice I asked for girls opinions? What, so a guy could work for minimum wage all of his life and that would be fine with you because he treats you right? I have news for you, any guy not pulling his weight would likely treat a girl right if she accepts poverty with him. If it's a temporary situation, then I understand your point.

AGain, you are forcing your opinion on to me. :-) You don't have to agree but don't think it isn't my opinion. It is. I am not worried about it. My answer still stands and your "news for me" isn't news. It is just the same old stereotype we western people live under (our materalistic world). There are a handful of reasons why a guy might have a minimum wage job. It doesn't bother me. I earn well more than living in poverty and if he is working and being respectful than I am OK with it.

I would personally rather date a blue collar guy. I can usually relate to them better and I don't have to worry about whose making more because we both make sh*t lol I don't need some white collar a**hole thinking he owns the world. I like a hard working man it's sexy, sitting on a computer/phone for work doesn't appeal to me.

Im dating a "blue collar worker" now and I'm perfectly happy. Id prefer it this way actually because I'm not a white collar worker myself. I'm not a lawyer making a bunch of money so I don't need to date one. Id rather have a partnership where we can look after each other.

Id probably feel like a bum with someone who was well off, he'd have so much more power than me and probably feel like he has to take care of me or like he's my sugar daddy. I've noticed girls dating guys with so much more money than them tend to put up with more crap because they need him to maintain their lifestyle. Or you feel like their arm candy because he can buy you all these things and you can't but you have your good looks. I never want to be with someone who can give me so much more than I can give back to them or to myself, id rather date someone more my equal.

Marrying a rich guy who loves me unconditionally would obviously be the ideal situation for anyone because a lack of money is a major stresser in any relationship. That being said I made more money than my last boyfriend and I still loved him.

It doesn't really matter to me as long as he's goal oriented and driven.

I think of the guys working in the plants and warehouses in the unions making $25+ an hour...

work a steady shift, do all the stuff they want...

I prefer blue collar, I grew up in family led by white collar men and they were always at the office or away on business. I am guessing that's why I have always been attracted to blue collar guys.

This is a problem in western-culture and it's a problem that has to fix it's self and won't for a very long time. the fact is that the majority of women a LARGE majority of women do not want to date blue-collar men. IT SUCKS, but that's life. Let me tell you I live in Montreal, Qc and more than 90 percent out of around 30-40 of men under 30 are all single or hook up randomly or have friends with benefits AND WOMEN BLAME US like it's our fault we are single. Believe us it's not like we don't try!
