What do you think about a guy who shakes a girls hand?

What do you think about a guy who shakes a girls hand when being introduced or introducing himself vs the guy who just kind of nods and waives his hand when being introduced? Also when girls do shake hands how come instead of them putting their hand vertically they kind of place it flat and most of the time I end up shaking their fingers instead of the actual palm of their hand?

I respect a guy a lot more when he will shake my hand rather than wave, but it depends on the type of handshake. You should use a firm handshake (not a wrenching handshake, just a firm one) when shaking hands with women. I am not a feminist but I feel kind of disrespected when a guy has his hand limp while shaking hands with me. Just sake her hand like you would any guy's hand.

As far as those girls, I have no idea how to deal with them. I don't really think there's much you can do except slightly turn their hand over when you shake it.

Handshakes are nice, it gives me an instant glimpse at what kind of guy he is. A firm handshake is good, the dead fish is not. A curt nod or smile is the same, its good. A wave falls in with the dead fish. Calloused and scarred hands are good, polished and soft isn't. Most people out here nod, shaking hands is impractical if you have a beer in your hand.

I put my hand out vertically, I work in a man's world, you need a firm handshake to mean business.

My initial reaction is to shake hands when I meet someone, only not many people do so around me. It's a pleasant surprise if a guy does that, instead of the usual waving. I find it much more connecting and nice to have a physical contact insead of an awkawds greeting, standing further apart.

I think that sort of guy is cool and a people person, possibly charismatic.

I'm curious about the way women hold out their hands as well.. I know most when I have to shake hands I'm scared I'm going to cause pain since almost all the time I give a firm handshake.

I completely judge a person based on their handshake. I feel weird if they won't shake mine or do the limp-finger-grab. It's a sign of respect and assertiveness. Guys do the limp-finger-grab thing especially, me being a girl and all. Shake my hand dammit! You won't break it.

i'd say 95 percent of the time I get the limp finger grab from girls. I don't know if a lot of girls just don't know how to properly shake hands or what but I kind of lose a lot of respect for a person if they can't properly shake my hand.

I love it when guys shake my hand. I thnk it shows respect, and that they care to be nice. And I don't want a "soft" handshake from a guy at all. Give me your best handshake lol!

Oh and when I shake someone hands, I don't put my hand flat lol...

Wow so detailed, I never thought about the palm of the hand . Most guys when someone introduce me to them will hug or shake my hand the entire hand. I can't even think of a situation where they just nod , I think shaking hands is more polite.
