It has been proven to improve your flexibility and posture.
How awesome would it be to be able to do this? But I have to be first be able to reach my first goal, touch my toes. Followed by my second, be able to do the splits.

My two biggest tips for Yoga:
1. The most important thing to do in yoga is to breathe, especially when holding the postures. Learn the basic Dirga pranayama breath to use during yoga. Most importantly, breathe in and out through the nose into the belly.
2. I know your first instinct is to just dive right into it but you are a beginner and you will need to water breaks and you have a lot to learn. Start with 2 small exercises of your choosing and add a new one every week.
Nice myTake. One of my goals is also to do splits. I've been doing yoga for 4 years but I can't do the splits yet; I'm not in any rush to get there though.
I wish guys had better workout clothes for yoga. It’s happened to me a few times in inversions where my shirt slips down over my eyes. It happened once in a yoga class and the person next to me said it's a good thing I'm not a girl, lol.
One thing I would have added to the myTake is that if you're an agressive, go go go, no pain no gain type of person then you would probably be better to start off doing yoga with an instructor or in a class to prevent injuries.
