Bidet compared to only wiping is superior in my opinion for those reasons:

1) More hygienic - toilet paper or even wet wipes won't clean it effectively enough, at some point there will be more spreading than removing it off.

2) Saves money - less toilet paper to buy, only use few sqares to dry it off.

3) Saves time - a splash is way faster then a wipe, and a wipe, and a wipe...

4) More ecological - less toilet papers, hence less trees taken down.

5) Friendlier to the skin - after a lot of wiping, your skin may be irritating or even damaged.

You wash your hands after the wiping, so why not also wash down there?

I have a bidet, but not like the one in the picture. I wonder what I'm going to do if I move to a country with no bidet. I'm pretty sure it's going to be weird.😬😬

The thousand bucks for an automatic bidet, or a minimum of $400 for a bidet seat will buy a lot of tissue and water. Trees used for paper are typically replaced 5 to1. As for the water, "if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down".

Bidets don't do much. A wet wipe would do the same job or better while being less weird. They often have such low pressure that they won't do anything without scrubbing anyways. That makes me think most people using them are much dirtier than they say they are if they are using low pressure spray and not wiping. Gross...

Now those high pressure Indonesian butt sprayers... those are worth it!

Good points, I've never seen a bidet in real life as far as I can remember. Only in the movies. I can't recall ever being in anyone's home, in any public restroom, in any hotel that has ever even had one. I've never even had the opportunity to try one out. I just have to use TP and then finish it off with a wet wipe.

They don't squirt water up your butt, unless you set your bidet up to work that way. It's more of a miniature fountain that you can set to your liking for a good, thorough cleaning after you've used the toilet.

How does it work? you push a button then it rises up the bidet because it interferes if it sits in the same position as in the picture when going to the bathroom. Then you push another button then it sprays water
