How do you guys feel about drugs?

Ok so I'm against all drugs and no I don't just focus on marijuana because there are far more worse things than that. That's not to say however that I don't mind it. The whole it's not bad because it's natural and you can't get addicted to it crap people say doesn't sway me. I feel like all drugs are bad for society's health and productivity. How do you feel?

I also want to add in alcohol and tobacco. Although they are legall I think that they are just as bad.

I think that weed should be legal, since illegality doesn't stop people from using it anyway and that people should only be fined or jailed for doing evil things. Also, as long as people use weed responsibly, then there is really no problem. It's pretty much like alcohol, I think. If anything I think we should outlaw cigarettes and legalize weed. Cigarettes have much more chemicals and poisons and are physically addictive. With weed, usually the problem is it becomes a lifestyle. It's more psychologically addictive than physically addictive.

Personally though, I don't smoke weed, or anything else. I used to, but I quit. It was like I said, a lifestyle that was becoming a problem. I was lazy, waking up late, having little motivation. I smoked to get creative, but that never happened. It just made me a lot dumber, and all that would happen is I'd laugh at nothing and get the munchies. It was boring, actually. And what's worse, it made me complacent with boredom instead of trying to fix it. Haven't touched it in almost 2 years and I don't plan to use it again.

However, I have enjoyed my experiences with psychedelics (mushrooms, LSD) and would be open to doing so again. I'd also like to one day try peyote. It's really not as insane and terrible as the media likes to portray. It's more like, being in a waking dream. For me, it's like a return to when I was 4 or 5, when the lines between fantasy and reality were a little more blurry, and there was just, a feeling of magic in the world. I feel that I can use them, and still feel a sense of purity and innocence that I don't get from other intoxication. Again, I feel these should be legal so long as people use them responsibly.

Hard drugs however, are disgusting and I would not touch them with a 39 and a half foot pole.

I feel drugs are useless. I'm a happy person and have no need to use drugs to get a feeling of happiness or "Good feeling". I am happy with what I have and won't let what I don't have bring me down. I wouldn't date a girl that was always doing drugs or drinking. I wouldn't date a girl into any hardcore drugs period. I never did any type of illegal drug in my life and don't plan to ever. I will drink once in a blue moon but that is it.

I always think about how people become so addicted that nothing in their life matters anymore except for getting a fix. The feel so trapped. Must be so miserable to live like that. That's when I wonder about why they turned to drugs in the first place. You don't just choose to become dependent on drugs. I think it could be rooted in emotional/mental issues. There's a stigma in society to not express how you feel.. to act the way you're expected to.. just all the pressures of life. So I wonder if that's the cause. I can't see any other

I don't do any drugs that are considered illegal in my state. i feel they do make people more dumb, for instance mary jane. lol. people will argue with me obviously but i stand by my experiences, my old drug friends are super dumb and fucked up now.

Drugs are bad mkay?

I have met people whose lives have been destroyed by drugs. They get consumed by it and just can't get away. But I have also seen people who have gotten consumed by alcohol, love, work, sex, sports, gambling, and all manner of other vices.

On the other hand, I have known many, many more people who recreationally use drugs and are still perfectly productive people. Kids in my engineering program, kids going off to Ivy League schools, and highly successful athletes.

I do not believe that governments should tell people what they can and cannot put into their bodies. If someone wants to stop being a useful part of society, then let them. By constantly arresting people that are doing drugs, even if they use them responsibly and aren't inhibited by them in anyway, we are taking up space in jails and wasting police time and money.

Drugs do ruin many lives, but they also do wonders to enhance others. Having your life ruined is your choice but who am I to tell someone that they can't use something that will help with their depression or make them feel less pain? Who am I to tell someone that they can't use something to help them escape for a little while, when my version of escape is perfectly legal?

It isn't up to me what people do to their bodies. Legalize everything.

Plenty of people do drugs everyday and lead productive normal lives. The war on drugs is a failure that has created more problems than it has fixed.
I took a bunch of LSD a music festival and had a really great time in a safe environment.
Some people want to look down on drug users because they have low self esteem and need somebody to feel superior to.
Also some people hate to see other people having fun.
Alcohol is still one of the most unsafe substances I have ever used.
Many people die each year from alcohol related deaths, but that is socially acceptable.

I have a good job, I have friends, I have a good relationship with my family, plenty of hobbies and creative pursuits to keep me busy, also, I love to get high.

UPDATE: I am a daily bud smoker, and yesterday, I solved a major bug in software that non-smokers were not able to figure out.

So ya, you see some dumb stoners sometimes, some stoners are dumb, but I think they would have been dumb without the drugs, dumb people exist with out any help from drugs or paint chips, they just happen.
I don't think the dumb stone/druggy stereo type is very accurate, it's that non-dumb stoners hide it so well you lump them in with the normal productive non drug users.

Some are natural and a little more soothing while some are more chemically harmful. I never try to talk people up to them but they are every where even in your own head, referring to chemicals in the pineal gland, Anyway people see them differently and I respect that.

Of course I can see why such a great majority would be against it whether for personal reasons or if you want to blame social media you can do that too. I know which ones to stay away from in particular.

There's no street competition to buy beer or liquor with people who would sell them legally, is there? Illegal drugs would be more expensive than legal drugs, so no incentive to buy them illegally.

It can't be that simple because legal things like tobacco, alcohol and sugar are bad for society's health and productivity if done too much. Probably sugar by itself is more detrimental to society than all the illegal drugs put together.

They are bad but I have self-control. I've tried quiet a few, love blow but I'm no addict. But you know what else is bad and legal? Alcohol. Drugs are worse but to each their own. Self-control is important so no one ODs.

I'm not into any type of drug, I've seen the worst of it in my friends lives. It's not all bad, some drugs can mellow out the people that are usually on the edge of life. It's a turn off for me otherwise.

They do not strike me as mediocre. I don't think what your saying holds much water, yes some people do drugs and are mediocre, but maybe, they always were. No doing drugs will not save you from mediocrity, you gotta put in work, high or sober.
